Shanghai Normal University Visiting Party Called On NTNU

Shanghai Normal University vice principal Tsung Yu-hao and his visiting party called on NTNU on May 8th. Director of Office of International Affairs Chen Chiu-lan, dean of College of Education Chou Yu-wen received the guests at Office of International Affairs. The purpose of the visit was to reach the agreement on long-term cooperation and signed the sister school contract in the future.

Since the end of 2011, Shanghai Normal University contacted NTNU Office of International Affairs for the academic cooperation between both schools by email. Shanghai Normal University expected to send 10 research students to NTNU every semester for two months. One month taking the educational related courses and the other interning in primary or secondary school. However, director Chen Chiu-lan pointed out that both schools could sign the sister school contract. Students from Shanghai Normal University could study in NTNU for a semester. But the number of exchange student would be limited to two for a semester.
Shanghai Normal University expected to reach the agreement next semester and send the students to NTNU. Nevertheless, the agreement needed time to go through. It would be hard to make the agreement before next semester. Director Chen Chiu-lan suggested Shanghai Normal University applied for the visiting student program. Visiting students would have the same right as exchange students, only to pay the tuition themselves.
