Weng Chian Yu Honor Artist Ceremony Would Be Postponed To August 8th

 NTNU College of Fine Arts awarded the honor artist title for the well-known actress, singer, and artist Mrs. Weng Chian Yu. The ceremony was supposed to be held on August 2nd in the afternoon. Due to the horrible weather, the ceremony would be postponed to August 8th morning.

Mrs. Weng Chian Yu had devoted to the international art and culture exchange. Her excellent skill and technique of wood block print works had won her a lot of great art prizes from Japan. She started to discover the beauty of wood block print since she was 25. She went to see one of Ms. Inoue Katsue’s exhibitions and was captivated by two prints of poppies. Since then, the hardworking Weng Chian Yu showed her talent on wood block print besides performing. She had great influences in Japan.
Although Mrs. Weng Chian Yu grew up in Japan, she was born in Taiwan and was an international star. She was the artist who had great contribution to the society. Honoring as the honor artist of NTNU College of Fine Arts would definitely promote the development of NTNU art and academic reputation and had positive influence for NTNU art students.
