NTNU Yun Ho Street Academic Building Awards Green Architecture Silver Medal

 

 
The idea of saving energy is spreading around the world. NTNU Yun Ho No. 1 Academic Building awarded the Green Architecture silver medal from Ministry of the Interior last year. The plating ceremony was held on August 13th. NTNU Principal Chang Kuo En and the Director of General Affairs Wu Chung Hsin attended the ceremony personally. Director Wu indicated that NTNU was forwarding to the goal of green architecture and saving energy. All of the facilities in NTNU would build based on this concept in the future.
The Green Architecture was organized by Ministry of the Interior. Yun Ho Street 
Academic Building reached the six targets out of nine. It took three years from getting the candidacy to officially receive the silver medal. Director Wu indicated that NTNU was located in the center of city. Therefore, it was hard to reach the standard of Green Architecture. After three years efforts and insistence, finally complete the goal. 
Principal Chang Kuo En also indicated that NTNU had focused on saving energy activities for a long period of time. Not only Yun Ho Academic Building, the dormitory on Gong Guan campus had already used the solar energy system for a while. NTNU would build the “Culture & Life Building” on library campus in the future to create a great leisure space for student.
