Singapore Saint Margaret’s Secondary School Called On NTNU for Physical Education

 The Saint Margaret’s Secondary School teachers from Singapore called on NTNU on August 3rd. NTNU Professor from Department of Physical Education, who was also the Principal of The Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University Cho Chun Chen and the research director of NTNU Office of International Affairs Professor Chueh Yueh Ching received the guests. Both sides discussed on the topic of physical education and exchanged opinions. 

Physical education had become the issue that the public concerned most. Principal Cho talked about the importance of physical fitness courses in physical education to students in high school. They cooperated with the Department of Health, emphasized that besides the sports competition, physical fitness promoted health. They also carried on the plan of Ministry of Education, to take the physical fitness score as one of the entrance exam standard.
Professor Chueh also mentioned that the overweight problem had become more and more serious. There would be the physical fitness courses for overweight student to help them solve the overweight problem.
Physical education teachers from Saint Margaret’s Secondary School approved Professor Cho and Professor Chueh’s idea on physical education. They expected to encourage more secondary schools in Singapore to emphasize on physical education.
