“Send Love to Myanmar” Achievement Presentation Pass Down Love

NTNU students started to arrange the volunteer camp “Send Love to Myanmar” in March. The camp took 20 days. The participants raised 1 million and 350 thousands NT dollars, 23 laptops, and more than 8000 books. The 20 tons of books were the Taiwanese love to Myanmar. The leader of the camp Chang Yuan Ting shared here experiences that many of the students never seen a white correction in their life, not even a computer. The guiding professor Yen Miao Kui from Department of Civic Education and Leadership talked about the difficult position of equipment and education in Myanmar, “go to Myanmar then you will know what is poor.”

The volunteer camp increased the English courses this year, which benefited more than 8000 Myanmar students. All the participated students said goodbye reluctantly to each other at the end of the camp. Li Pei Yi from Department of Civic Education and Leadership shared her experiences that, “In my group of children, nobody gives up learning because of age. They study hard and welling to learn new things.” Professor Yen indicated that the activity was a worthy thing to do. We should pass down this educational spirit.
Director of Department of Civic Education and Leadership Lin Chia Fan indicated that the volunteer camp activities would keep holding in Department of Civic Education and Leadership. They would set up a regular camp to welcome more new members. Raising fund and books wouldn’t stop. Let’s spread the love to every corner in the world.
