Green University Alliance convention slated for late July

The NTNU-headed Taiwan Green University Alliance (臺灣綠色大學聯盟) held its second preparatory meeting Wednesday to plan conferences over the next year and discuss member university's websites. In the meeting, the Alliance agreed to hold its first convention in late July to push forward energy-saving, eco-freindly policies among universities.

To date, 48 public and private institutes of higher education have joined the Alliance since its inception in August of last year. The Alliance's stated goals are promoting 'green universities' through intercollegiate cooperation; procuring and sharing environmentally friendly resources; increasing cooperation and sharing among Alliance members; working with government agencies, corporations, and members of the public toward a goal of sustainability; and broadening academic and other exchanges with green universities across the world.
