Dept. of Electrical Engineering Got Golden Medal from Robot Competition

The Department of Electrical Engineering is specialized in robot studies. The student team lead by Prof. Hus Chen Chien James and Prof. Wang Wei Yen received gold medals again in the 2016 International Competition on Intelligent Humanoid Robotics.
HURO CUP is held by the Ministry of Education at National Kaohsiung First University of Science on May 14th and 15th. The competition is categorized into short distance running, marathon, stair climbing, weight lifting, basketball, walking with obstacles, walking on bumpy roads and long jump. NTNU received high scores in 6 categories and won the all-round championship.
Junior students Chou Wen Chin, Chang Yu Tzu, Chen Lin Han, and Gaun Da Wei, Huang Ten Wei from graduate school are team members. They work with wonderful team spirits and received excellent grades. 
A problem occurred at the middle of the competition, the robot was disconnect to the computer for a while. After several times of trial, they finally got the computer and the robot connected. NTNU team also faces fierce rival teams from Ming Chuan University and Tamkang University but they proudly got the first prize, and it’s the third year in a roll. 
The students are very grateful that two professors went for sponsorship so that the team can join the competition representing NTNU. They said that they hope the school can see the need of students and help they go on international stage.
