Lin Ying Shin Took the First Gold of 2018 Asian Games at Air Rifle Mixed Team

 
The Shooting game of Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games was held on August 19th. Lin Ying Shin, from the Department of Athletic Performance and her partner Lu Shao Chuan won the gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team, beating China, India and South Korea. A record-breaking 494.1 points brought Taiwan the first gold medal from this year's Asian Games.
 
22 countries participated in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event. in the qualifying match, Lu Shao Chuan got 411.9 points and Lin Ying Shin got 417.9 points, listed in fifth as a team. Lin was ranked only second to Korean athlete among 22 contestants. The two athletes broke out in the final game. They have got the highest 310.2 point at the qualifying match. They scored a total of 494.1 points in the Air Rifle Mixed Team Finals, breaking the Asian Games record and winning Taiwan's first gold medal at the Asian Games.
 
Lin is a talented shooter who started to learn shooting in 2014 while in high school. It only took her a year to master the pivotal skills of rifle shooting. What's more, she constantly breaks the national record ever since she started to attend competitions in 11th grade. When she was in her last year of high school, she got 7th place in her debut of the world cup, which guaranteed her to study at NTNU. This year is an important year for her. She won a Gold of Air Rifle in World Cup in Munich, Germany with 250.3 points. Lu Shao Chuan, aged 21, won a gold at World University Championship Shooting 2018 in March and a bronze with 227.9 points at World Cup.
