<2008 Sports Day>Ancient Greek Characters Participate in Sports Day's Parade

<p>By Bunny Chen<br /> Campus Reporter</p> <p>National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) Sports Day was officially launched while a group of ancient Greek characters&rsquo; parade was presented on the field this morning.</p> <p>A total of 60 teachers and students from the Graduate Institute of Performing Arts (GIPA) dressed themselves as ancient Greek characters, such as Zeus, Pan, Melete, Baccus and Apollo and joined the parade for today&rsquo;s grand opening ceremony for the Sports Day.&nbsp; Their appearance surprised everybody at the scene with their own creativity.</p> <p>&quot;This event was a big thing for GIPA, as every one of us would do our best to carry out the show,&rdquo; said Susan Lin (林淑真), director for GIPA.&nbsp; &ldquo;Our end goal was to get everybody to stay together, have fun and do his best during each game.&rdquo;</p> <p>In addition to ancient Greek characters, NTNU&rsquo;s staff and faculty members also formed a group to join the parade, while they dressed them up as cabin crews.</p> <p>NTNU President Gou Yih-shun (郭義雄) was pleased with what he saw.</p> <p>&quot;I am glad to see that all of you are so spunky, which means that you are healthy,&rdquo; Gou said when he was approached for comments after the event.&nbsp; &quot;What I just saw was indeed creative.&rdquo;</p>
