President Wang Gin-Pyng Talked About Congressional Diplomacy
On April 16th, Wang Gin-Pyng, President of Legislative Yuan as well as a NTNU alumni of the Department of Mathematics, returned to his alma mater and shared with current students stories of the less known congressional diplomacy. After explaining the difference between congressional diplomacy and other forms of diplomacy, he continued to talk about 2 main functions of congressional diplomacy: receiving foreign guests and visiting foreign countries. He also explained current difficulties, including the decrease of legislators, the oppression from China and Taiwan’s small number of countries with official diplomatic ties. Students were all very interested and vigorously raised questions.
