I Love Taiwan – Mandarin Speech Contest for International Students
Hosted by the Mandarin Teaching Centre, a Mandarin Speech Contest for International Students took place on October 23rd at the lecture hall in the Bo-Ai Building. The contest aimed to increase students’ interest in learning, and their understanding of Taiwan. Nationalities of the 24 contestants range from the United States, Turkey, Czech Republic, Germany, etc. Contestants could choose one of the five topics as the theme of their 4 – 5 minute-long speech: My Favourite Chinese Movie; My Personal Revelation from the 88 Flood; Kaohsiung World Games or Taipei Deaflympics; My Favourite Taiwanese TV Program; and Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
