2009 International Symposium on East Asia Regional Development

The Department of East Asian Culture and Development, NTNU and Taiwan Foundation for Democracy co-hosted the 2009 International Symposium on East Asia Regional Development on December 3rd at the 509 conference room, Union Building. Approximately 30 scholars from Taiwan, the UK, US, Japan and Korea came together to share their opinions on the current status of democracy and human rights in Taiwan.

Wenhui Plaza Opens with Taipei City Special Award on Urban Scenery

After completing the construction work for shops and the post office, Wenhui Plaza officially opened on December 3rd. The renovation work won the Taipei city Special Award on Urban Scenery.

Singaporean Minister of Education Visits NTNU

Led by the Minister of Education He Ping, a team of 9 administrative superintendents from Singapore’s Ministry of Education paid a visit to NTNU learn about the cultivation of future teachers, and to discuss how to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

NTNU Makes Donation to Taiwan Fund for Children and Families for Aboriginal Children Suffering in the 88 Flood

When the 88 Flood occurred, NTNU immediate organized a donation activity, and reached a total amount of NT$ 1.94 million to date. President Guo Yih-Shun brought the money raised to the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families on December 2nd in person.

International Symposium on Teacher Evaluation Aims to Elevate Teachers’ Professional Development

In coordination with the middle- and elementary- school teacher evaluation policy carried out by the Ministry of Education, NTNU and the School Administration Research Association, R.O.C held an international symposium on teacher evaluation that incorporates teachers’ professional development on December 1st and 2nd.
