NTNU Engages Indian Students in Talent Drive to Boost Taiwan’s Tech Sector

In early December, faculty representing NTNU joined the Taiwan University System and leading technology companies on the "2024 India Talent Recruitment Tour," organized by the National Development Council. The initiative aimed to cultivate AI talent and promote academic and industry exchanges between Taiwan and India. The tour included three job fairs and visits to four prestigious science and engineering universities, where Indian students showed strong interest in studying at NTNU.

Cross-National Youth Exchange Program:NTNU Pilots NTU System to Expand Educational Diplomacy

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), along with National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), formed a delegation of outstanding students to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 10th to 17th, 2024. The delegation was led by Prof. Greg Lee, former Executive Vice President of NTNU and a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. The itinerary included a visit to the University of Sharjah, as well as exchanges with university students and young professionals from various industries in the UAE. Notably, the delegation was hosted by His Highness Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates, which added significant importance to the trip in terms of international exchanges.

International Exchange Grant Funds Joint NTNU-SNU Program

Professor Chen-Wei Chang of the NTNU Department of Education recently availed of the NTNU International Collaboration and Exchange Grant to lead 27 students on a visit to Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea. Applications for the next round of funding for projects taking place between January and June 2025, closes on November 25.

Taiwan and Southeast Asia Unite for Sustainable Textiles at NTNU Camp

NTNU’s Graduate Institute and Undergraduate Program of Electro-Optical Engineering recently hosted the "2024 International Camp of Smart & Sustainable Textiles," positioning Taiwan as a leader in sustainable textile innovation and regional collaboration. Held from October 21st to 27th, the camp attracted experts across Taiwan’s fashion design, textile, technology, recycling, and international certification sectors, focusing on building strategic connections with Southeast Asia. This unique gathering included ten senior executives from government, industry, academia, and research institutions across Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, who joined Taiwanese leaders in workshops, lectures, and industry visits to explore cutting-edge developments in smart and sustainable textiles.

Experts from 28 Countries Convene to Discuss EMI Education

The "Collaborative Construction of Knowledge Through EMI" conference at NTNU brought together 21 scholars from diverse fields within language and education to discuss advancements in research and practices in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI).
