Governing for Net Zero: Sustainability at the University of Glasgow

摘要

The University of Glasgow's declaration of a climate emergency and its Glasgow Green strategy have reshaped how we govern sustainability across the institution. This lecture will explore the evolving governance architecture. I will discuss key challenges, including aligning estates and academic priorities, embedding net-zero into investment and risk decisions, improving data and reporting, and engaging students and staff as partners. The talk will also outline practical strategies and lessons learned so far, highlighting how Glasgow is attempting to act as an anchor institution for the city and a sector leader on climate action and sustainable development.
