Professor Ku Yu-chun from National Dong Hua University department of natural resources and environmental studies published her “Dance with Students- the beauty of teaching and researching in rural area schools” speech. The speech mentioned many educational problems in the rural areas and the courses design.
Professor Ku currently teaching in Hualien, the place where everyone thought of a rural area. Professor Ku indicated that the place was rural not from distance, but people ignored it. Ten years teaching in Hualien, professor Ku discovered that students in Hualien couldn’t receive the sense of achievement from learning in school. They were mostly in a confused situation. In the reaction with children, professor Ku found that understanding student’s language was very important. She designed different classes to suit different children, and had profound achievement in years.
Through Professor Ku’s sharing, listeners could understand how to combine theories and actions, designed different courses for children. It was indeed a notable speech.
