East Asia Youth Confucianism Forum Pass Down Spirit
2011 “East Asia Youth Confucianism Forum” took place at July 18th at Linkou division. The purpose was to pass down the Confucianism spirit. The forum attracted the youth from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Malaysia. Through the sacrificial rites, lecture courses, culture survey, topical forum, and group discussion, they learned the traditional Chinese Confucianism spirit.
Principal Chang Kuo-en indicated that the youth were expected to preserve the traditional culture and understand the development of Sinology through the activity. Huanfan University principal Chu Chien-min specialy emphasized that the folk in Taiwan were the main characters that gave impetus to the traditional culture. The university was expected to keep up the East education concept with the strike of western culture.
The youths participated in the program not only took lessons in the classroom, they also had chances to visit the Confucianism historic spots around Taiwan. Confucianism was not only the knowledge in school, but also a lifestyle.
