Taiwanese Academic Seminar Led the New Popular Culture Trend

The 7th Taiwanese culture international academic seminar started on September 5th at NTNU library international hall. The meeting was held by NTNU department of Taiwan culture, languages and literature and Chang Jung Christian University graduate institute of Taiwan Studies and would last for 5 to 7 days. The topic of the meeting was “popular culture in Taiwan”, including discussion on island travel, music, and the movie “Au Revoir Taipei”.

NTNU started the Taiwanese culture seminar since 1994 and started to cooperate with Chang Jung Christian University since 2005. The content of the seminar stretched over from Ching Dynasty to modern Taiwan. Agitated the deep thought of Taiwanese literature with popular culture.

Several speakers were invited including John Bratzel, Toni Johnson-Woods, Liao Bing-hui, Tu Cheng-sheng. Taiwanese culture studies should internationalize. Brought the local studies to the world. The last day of the meeting would move to Chang Jung Christian University in Tainan. Expected to bring the new thought of Taiwan culture and literature through the studies.
