2011 On the Edge Between History and Design

The “On the Edge Between History and Design-2011 Exhibition of Taiwan’s 100 year of Design” planned by NTNU started on September 23rd at National Museum of History. The exhibition would be last until November 13th.

NTNU vice principal Lin Dong-tai indicated on the opening tea party that NTNU would combine culture, design, art, technology, and physics education in the future. The art museum was planning presently. The exhibition planner professor Lin Pan-sung indicated that through the design exhibition, he expected everyone to see the national gallery and let the public knew that art included design.

The exhibition was divided into three subjects. “Taiwan Poster Archives” showed the history of Taiwanese posters and some classical Taiwanese posters. “Culture, Art, Museum” showed the masterpieces by designers domestic and overseas. “The Edge-2011 International Design Alliance congress Taipei World Design Poster Exhibition” showed the collection of the congress posters. Three subjects completely showed the Taiwanese poster history, present, and the future.

The Exhibition would display about 160 posters. Expected through the masterpieces, the public could have more information about the poster design art and to interchange with the international designers as well.
