NTNU Wen Hui Ting Relaunched on Teacher’s Day
After renovating, NTNU Wen Hui Ting relaunched on Teacher’s Day. Alumni, Executive Yuan Speaker Wang Chin-ping, and ex Examination Yuan Speaker Hsu Shui-te showed up at NTNU to celebrate together. The senior outstanding teachers award was awarded to appreciate the hardworking of teachers for years.
Wen Hui Ting was built in 1926. After destroyed by the conflagration, it was rebuilt this June. On the Teacher’s Day, the gothic architecture Wen Hui Ting kept its classical exterior and the modern interior design to start over again. The 85 years old Wen Hui Ting meant differently to the alumni in each generation. Principal Chang Kuo-en indicated that NTNU received the subvention from government to repair Wen Hui Ting and the new fountain built in the entrance of the school. Symbolized the free academic discussion space and the endless students spirit.
To witness the history of NTNU, professor Lin Jeng-chien from Department of Chinese brought the old pictures of Wen Hut Ting and compared the new modern style to the old classic one. He also reminded everyone that the Teacher’s Day in Taiwan was based on the birthday of Confucius.
