Senior High Geography Olympia Competition in NTNU
The Senior High Geography Olympia Competition ended on October 2nd. After the two days fighting, the group winner and the personal winner came out. Students focused on the land utilization issue, observed, drafted, and commented on the affection of economy, society, and environment.
The group competition was to compete in the thesis format. Total 97 groups participated in the competition. NTNU professor Shen Shu-min from Department of Geography department said that the group competition usually took almost a year to do the research. It was a challenging task for high school students. The personal competition tested the students’ thought of environment and land development. The students should not only do the reality observes but also have to encounter the English written examination.
Almost 100 students from department of geography assisted the competition this time. They indicated that it was a pleasure to see so much high school students participated in the competition and devoted themselves in geography. The 10th Geography Olympia must have brought a lot to the participants.
