The Drama Club Splendid Show “Girls Waiting to Blossom”

Have you read the famous literature “A Blossom Tree” by Hsi Mu-jung? The Just Play troupe formed by the drama club adapted the play from “A Blossom Tree” and wrote the “Girls Waiting to Blossom”. The story was about a group of girls pray to the Buddha and shared the stories.

There were no splendid background or decoration on the stage but just a few of table and chairs. Not too much music through the play but just the voice and lines of actors. The playwright Jen De-chun indicated that a thousand years waiting for blossom represented the girl’s mind. How did they view of it in different stages. This was the first play for the director Yi Ying-hsiung. She didn’t have the certain way to direct the play, just guided the players to walk into the drama.

The leader of the drama club Lin Yu-nung from department of music looked back at the preparation of the play, she said, “we spent more than a month to prepare for the play, expected to bring it to the audiences with the small type of play a new way to think and feel.”
