2011 Young Designer Workshop Bring Fashion to NTNU Night Market

 The “2011 Young Designer Workshop” held by ministry of economic affairs cooperated with the Taipei World Design Expo started this week at NTNU graduate institute of design. The chief of Savannah College of Art and Design, USA Victor Ermoli was invited to give a lecture. He personally guided 20 students from different countries. On October 20th, they published “Fashion Night Market”, to show the creativity of the future design seed.

The YDW connected 30 design related departments in the entire Taiwan, invited the young designers around the world to Taiwan and share their experiences and creativities. Chief Victor Ermoli said, “Let the students to discover the problems and find the solution. In process, they will do what they thought was impossible.” He admired students’ passion positive attitude toward design. Professor Liang Kuai-chia from graduate institute of design hoped students to start from the point of “service design” and widened the design thoughts and creative concepts.

The participated students walked into NTNU Night Market, discovered the problems, and tried to solve the problems with the thought and concept of design. They view the little details that they never pay attention of and find the new possibilities for design. NTNU night market maintained both the tradition and the modern style. Possibilities hid in every new and old alley. Through 2011 YDW, NTNU had a chance to add the color of fashion.
