Geography King In Taiwan National Geographic Championship

 The final round of Taiwan National Geographic Championship was held at NTNU on November 5th. The Taiwan and international geographic knowledge, history culture, and earth science questions didn’t baffle the educated elementary and junior high students. Chien Hsin from Taichung Viator Catholic High School, Chao Yu-hsuan from Taipei Jin-Hua Elementary School each won the golden medal in junior high and elementary school group. 

489 junior high and elementary schools, 1941 students participated in the 7th “Taiwan National Geographic Championship”. 144 students made it to the final round. Director of Ministry of Education Huang Zi-teng said, “I’m very happy to represent Ministry of Education to participate in this meaningful competition. The winners would be trained by the professors from department of geography and National Geographic Society, represented Taiwan to participate in the International games.”  

The answers that even adult should think for a while, the participants answered it correctly in three second. Organizing unit NTNU department of geography professor Shen Shu-min indicated that geography is life; life is geography. Students should apply the geographic knowledge learned in class in the daily life.
