Professor Shih Ling-hung Elected Vice-President of ICOGRADA

“A designer could affect 300 people,” said professor Shih Ling-hung from department of visual design. She just represented Taiwan design to be elected as the vice president of International Council of Graphic Design Association.

ICOGRADA was a professional visual design world association founded in London in 1963. The association started with the visual design group in Europe, South Africa, South America, and Canada; after 90s, the Pacific Ocean countries like Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan actively participated in it, it became the authority of visual design. Talked about her own works, there was a message in professor Shih Ling-hung’s eyes that she wanted to bring the design to the society. To professor Shih, design was the creativity of esthetics. The career was related to society and life. “Design was a tool to advance people’s life,” said professor Shih Ling-hung with a smile on her face.

She participated and awarded in many international design competitions. The recent award was Ekoplagat “Honourable recognition”. As an educator, professor Shih indicated that the process was more important than the result. She hoped to set a good example for her students. She was surprised to be elected as the vice president, but she would take the challenge and popularized design in Taiwan.
