NTNU Man Basketball Got Three Victories in UBA
NTNU man basketball team met the home team Tungnan University at the game on November 23rd. Two teams went into the tie throughout the game. The last minute at the forth period, with the three free throws by Chiang Shi-feng and Chien Wei-ju, won the game with 80:69 at the end.
“The players finally conquered the hardship in this game, wouldn’t panic at the important time,” said the team coach Shi Ming-tsung.
The first two loses at the trial match brought the huge pressure on the players. The strong desire to win caused a lot of turnovers on the court. “The starting lineup was not set yet and the players were mostly too young,” said the coach about the problems the team was facing in new season. Coach Chen Tzu-wei agitatedly commanded the strategies at the side court. He kept reminding players to stop panic and slow down. After the fifth games, with the pressure of winning, still successfully oppressed the opponent was a great improvement.
In the game, senior player Li Ming-hui got five three-point shots; Li Chia-ching and Chien Wei-ju each got 14 points. The players paint height was not enough and the center player not enough, so the rebound couldn’t be taken down efficiently. Looking to the next championship, NTNU needed to conquer the problems of players dispatch.
