Former Principal Kuo Yi-hsiung Dedicated To Disadvantaged Education

The former instructor Lin Tian-chin from National Defense University led 10 students from 5 schools in Beijing and Nanjing to hold the Tai Chi winter camp in Nantou junior high school. Former NTNU Principal Kuo Yi-hsiung also joined the volunteer group, accompanied students to spend an unforgettable winter break.

Instructor Lin was affected by Yang Tai Chi 20 years ago and decided to dedicate to Tai Chi education and culture for his life. He led 10 outstanding pupils in the beginning of February to his hometown Nantou to spread the Tai Chi culture.

“I want to be the old education volunteer,” said former Principal Kuo Yi-hsiung. When he went to the camp, he discovered many of the students were come from the single-parent family or family lack of cares. He indicated that we shouldn’t view the education only in Taipei but through every single corner in Taiwan.

Principal Kuo expected the university students to study hard, be respected to people, and cherished what you got in the moment.
