Wang Chien-tang Awarded First Prize in 2012 Hong Kong International Violin Competition

 

 

The Ph. D student Wang Chien-tang from Department of Music awarded the first prize in 2012 Hong Kong International Violin Competition this February. He awarded the Best Performances Award as well.

Wang Chien-tang was the first Taiwanese musician from NTNU to receive the international violin competition prize ever. His advisor was Doctor Chen Chin-hung from department of Music. She indicated that it was not easy to win the prize in this competition. The second place was the student from China Beijing Central Conservatory of Music and the third place was the student from United States University of Cincinnati College of Music. Wang Chien-tang won the competition with his strategies and experiences.

Wang participated in a lot of international violin competitions since he entered NTNU. He would participate in more international violin competitions in the future and win the prizes back for NTNU and for Taiwan.
