NTNU Ranked 87 in QS Best Asian University

 Times Higher Education- OS World University Rankings released the 2012 best Asian university list. NTNU had a great improvement from rank 104 last year to rank 87 this year. 

The investigation was based on the university academic reputation, student teacher ratio, thesis publication, the citation number, internationalization, and the number of exchange students. The top three universities in Asia were The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, and The University of Hong Kong. 
Taiwan had 11 universities on the top 100 list, including National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Taiwan Normal University, and 8 other universities. NTNU was ranked 104 last year and ranked 87 this years. It had the greatest improvement among all schools.
The director of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) research department Ben Sowter indicated at the interview by Central News Agency that Taiwan had 31 universities on the Asian university top 300 list, and 21 of them had great improvement. It symbolized the general improvement in Taiwan higher education. It was positive news.
