Higher Education Had Raised People’s Environmental Consciousness

 The unusual global climate change problem was getting more and more serious. As part of the race on the Earth, how can we manage to protect our environment? NTNU General Education Center held the international academic seminar “knowledge, morality, and action” in order to raise people’s awareness to our climate change problem.

More and more people in Taiwan were getting great education nowadays. The first challenge the leader facing was how to raise people’s awareness of climate change. The environmental consciousness should start cultivate from the basic education, for students to realize the importance of environmental issues. According to a statistic, 2% of the people in the world had highly educated. Up to 80% of the leaders had highly educated. Therefore, leaders became the key point of setting up the climate change policy. For instance the manufacture way of the agricultural product, alternative fuel, and saving water resource were all the policies that should be carefully evaluated. 
We could develop the green economy without carbon dioxide pollution. The commercial development not necessarily had to be conflicted with the environmental protection. The seminar expected the participated guests to deal with the global issues standing in other’s shoes and open up the whole new world outlook.
