International Mini Block Print Art Exhibition at NTNU

 The opening ceremony “Elite Inheritance: 2012 International Mini Block Print Invitation Exhibition and International Academic Seminar” took place on September 15th at NTNU Te Chun Art Gallery. The art works by international artists and Taiwanese artists displayed together. The seminar specially invited Professor Chang Ko from China South China University of Technology and Professor Kobayashi from Japan Tama Art University to display their research result.

The mini block print referred to the block print that was limited size to 30x30. The exhibition displayed 150 pieces of art works from all around the world, Taiwan, United States, Canada, France, Japan, China, Korea, Portugal, Malaysia, and Republic of Serbia.
NTNU principal Chang Kuo en indicated that the history of Taiwan modern block print could trace back to 1973, when Professor Liao Hsiu Ping established the first block print workshop in NTNU. The dean of NTNU College of Fine Arts Li Chen Ming indicated that many block print exhibitions and workshops were held recent years, more and more people start learning or get in touch with this art.
NTNU director of Department of Fine Arts Yang Yung Yuan expected that Department of Fine Arts could invite Professor Kobayashi and Professor Chang Ko to lecture in NTNU in the future or hold some block print workshop for students. Department of Fine Arts would select some outstanding students to study block print in Japan in the future, to promote block print art.
