Solomon Mikowsky Teaches Piano in NTNU
The most popular piano teacher Solomon Mikowsky from United States opened the piano classes in NTNU. On September 22nd, NTNU Department of Music invited Solomon Mikowsky to be the guiding teacher in the piano teaching workshop. Solomon Mikowsky was currently teaching in United Stated Manhattan School of Music, Art Institute of Chicago, and Roosevelt University. He specially came all the way to Taiwan to give a splendid piano lesson.
Solomon Mikowsky was honored as one of the “Most popular mentor of artist”. He had the magic to turn the pianist into artist. His students had received more than a hundred great international prizes in the important international music competitions. His great contribution to music education got him the honor prize presented by Manhattan School of Music and International Education Association. NTNU Piano Professor Chen Yu Yun from Department of Music indicated that once NTNU heard that Solomon Mikowsky opened the classes at Beijing; Department of Music immediately sent the invitation to him to ask him to give a lesson in NTNU.
The students participated in the workshop dressed properly and practiced a lot before the class. Everybody cherished this rare chance to listen to Solomon Mikowsky’s teaching. Solomon Mikowsky indicated that many students got nervous before going on the stage. He always said that, “you have to understand the song to avoid the nervous situation. Once you understand all the meanings of the song, you can easily control it”.
