NTNU Signs Memorandum with Yokohama City University

On September 8th, the Dean of the College of Science Chia Chih-Ta signed a memorandum on academic exchange with Masaru Tahcibana, the Dean of the Graduate School of Nanobioscience from Yokohama City University. 

 

Yokohama City University was etablished in 1882 as Yokohama School of Commerce and 6 years later renamed as renamed Yokohama Commercial School. In 1952, the Yokohama Medical School merged with Yokohama City University.

 

In 2014, representatives from Yokohama City University came to NTNU to visit the Department of Physics and the Department of Earth Sciences, soon after, three professors from the Department of Physics visited Yokohama City University in return. On September 2015, the memorandum between College of Science and Graduate School of Nanobioscience was signed to foster collaboration between two universities. 

 

The Chair of Physics Department Liu Hsiang-Lin says that further cooperation like publishing academic papers together, student exchange programs as well as teacher exchange programss are welcomed. Liu emphasized that there’s no limit to short-term visitors no matter students or teachers. It’s expected that this international cooperation will benefit the academic development of both sides.
