NTNU at 2016 Higher Education Expo in India

In respond to the New Southern Policy, Vice President Sung Yao Ting and a group of faculties went to India to attend the Taiwan Higher Education Exposition 2016. In addition to the exposition and visit local schools, they have meetings with Tien Chung Kwang, Taiwan's representative to India to know more about the current situation of Chinese learning and higher education in India. 
This visit to India is a rewarding one. Indian people know more about NTNU, they also show great interest in coming to Taiwan. At the exhibition, many students come to our booth and raised questions about course in NTNU. MTC, Online Program in Teaching Chinese as a foreign Language, Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation are the most popular ones. Booklets and gifts are available on the booth, deans, directors and professors answered the questions patiently.  
The Chinese Teaching Program of NTNU is very well known in the world. To discuss the current situation of Chinese teaching, Vice President Sung and faculties met local Chinese teachers, Chinese learning institute owners and other people in this industry. They discussed the problem of finding teachers, teaching materials, equipment and course planning. Participants have shared their opinions and this is truly helpful for NTNU when making plans for teaching Chinese in India in the future. 
After the successful Education Exhibition, Vice President Song and faculties visited a number of prestigious universities and international schools in India, including Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, Mumbai University, Tata Academy of Social Sciences, and IES School of Management. Each school arranged a briefing session and time to exchange ideas to understand the possibility of future cooperation. In addition, we also visited local international Chinese schools and discuss future cooperation plans.
