Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Visited NTNU

NTNU has nearly 300 sister schools around the world and 96 of them are in Asia. On December 2nd, Principal of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies(HUSF), Prof. In-Chul KIM, Director of OIA, Prof.Jae-Ho HWANG, Prof.Dae-Guen LIM and Assistant Chang from the Department of Internaional and Corss-strait Education. They were welcomed by Vice President Cheng Chi Fu, Yu Kuang Chao, and Vice President for Office of International Affairs and Director Hsu from the Chinese Department. 
In 2010, President Kim have visited NTNU and signed a double degree with us. The principal was very happy to come to NTNU again. In recent years, people in South Korea has been encouraging students to study abroad, to broaden their horizon. President Kim said that the two universities focus on arts and humanities, sharing many similarities when it talks to raising students. They hope that through mutual cooperation, students will have more opportunities to study outside of their own country. Vice President Cheng said that the proportion of international students at National Taiwan Normal University is the highest in Taiwan which shows that we have an international teaching environment. There are currently more than 80 Korean students studying in this school and we will provide students with learning resources as much as possible.
In addition to NTNU, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies also connects with National Chengchi University, National Tsing Hua University and other 8 universities. According to the Korean Ministry of Education Academic Database in 2015, 28 students that learn Korean, 6 exchange students, and 23 normal students are studying at HUFS. Now the school has established the "International Diplomatic Scholarship" system, providing three scholarships to Taiwan students each year.
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) is a private research university based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The university was founded in 1954 to promote foreign language education in post-war Korea. The university is located in Seoul and Yongin.  The university is widely considered as one of the best private higher educations in South Korea, especially on foreign language and social science. Numerous diplomats and ambassadors are graduates of HUFS. It has a graduate school of interpretation and translation.
