Wu Chia Ying Got Silver at World Cup shooting competition, entering Tokyo Olympics

Taiwanese sport shooter Wu Chia Ying, also a master student at the Department of Athletic Performance NTNU, came to 2nd with a total score of 238.4 points at the World Cup shooting competition in New Delhi India on February 26th. This enables her to join the Tokyo Olympics 2020. At the beginning of February, Wu's cornea was hurt due to her physical condition. It was a blessing that she recovered before the game. 78 athletes joined the competition. Wu successfully came to the second round with 582 points. In the final game, she first ranked 4th with 98.2 points but gradually she climbed up to the second. The champion is Veronika Major with 245.1 points.

 
According to the chairmen of the Chinese Taipei Shooting Association Chen Shyh Kwei, the first and second price winner can join the Olympic. He has high expectation of Wu Chia Ying. Wu received a Bronze as group in 10 meters in Incheon 2014 Asian Games and an individual Bronze in 2015 Summer Universiade. She has gone through a bit of slump recently. Taiwan has been a strong performer in shooting. Last September, athlete Tien Chia Chen was ranked 4th in ISSF World Shooting Championships and became the first Taiwanese athlete that could join the Tokyo Olympic 2020.
