Amy Yeh, Graduate Student of GF-EMBA Tops International Hair & Makeup Trends

The 35th Hair & Makeup Trends was held in Manila on April 23rd. More than 100 contestants from Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Australia, Vietnam, China, Philippines gathered for all sorts of beauty techniques like hairdressing, nail art and styling. This year, 15 Taiwanese joined the competition. Amy Yeh, a student at GF-EMBA and a styling Director at Winmake Styling Company, won five medals, including barbie doll, mask makeup, making her the individual overall champion.

Amy has been working as a stylist and makeup artist for 11 years. In 2012, she began to participate in all kinds of competition in Taiwan. She wanted to show Taiwan to the world by joining international competitions. This time, it took her half year to prepare her creative barbie doll and mask make up. The inspiration of the barbie doll comes from Victoria's Secret and the mask is inspired by the Venice Mask Festival. The barbie is decorated in white feather, like a samba dancer. A lot of different materials are used on her work, like rhinestone, lace, airbrush makeup, golden paint.
When she received the awards from the Korean chairperson, she wanted to tell everyone that she's from Taiwan! Amy has been working hard to polish her skill for the past 5 years. In 2016, she acquired the ITEC Make Up Certificate Course. Last year, she became a student at a graduate school of GF-EMBA. By learning more knowledge, she could be an example of a success of soft power in Taiwan.
