NTNU Works with The University of the Philippines for Exchange Programs

The University of the Philippines is a state university system in the Philippines, and is the country's national university. The University of the Philippines has 8 constituent universities (CUs), and 4 basic education schools located in 15 campuses across the country. UP Diliman, the fourth CU which was established in 1949, is the flagship campus and seat of administration of the University of the Philippines.

Prof. Fang Chin Yi at the Graduate Institute of Sports, Leisure and Hospitality lead a visiting group to the Philippines for signing the MOU with Asian Institute of Tourism, UP College of Human Kinetics and UP College of Home Economics.

According to Professor Fang, the Philippines is an English-speaking country with a high degree of internationalization. Through exchange programs, graduate students from National Taiwan Normal University can go to the Philippines to study and expand their horizons. Students from the Philippines can come to our Mandaring Training Center for study in addition to their majors for learning Chinese and Chinese culture. He also hopes to improve their understanding of NTNU and further attract outstanding students to study in Taiwan.

The visiting group also visited 24-hour fitness centers such as Fitness First and Anytime Fitness and the SMEAG language school in Cebu. They hope to learn from the development model of the sports centers and the way the language schools in the Philippines manage their cost because they recruit local teachers and attract international students to study English in the Philippines with lower tuition.
