His Excellency Dr. Robert Kennedy Lewis Ambassador of Saint Lucia to Taiwan share a lecture to students
On December 1st, His Excellency Dr. Robert Kennedy Lewis, Ambassador of Saint Lucia to Taiwan, arrived at the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) to give a VIP guest lecture.
Professor Albert Young from the College of Management invited H.E. Ambassador Dr. Robert Kennedy Lewis, the ambassador of Saint Lucia, to give a unique and fascinating speech during a lecture in the MBA program. 'Servant Leadership,' his presentation, reflected on his journey from education to diplomatic service. His Excellency's life stories and advice to the younger generation greatly inspired the students and faculty.
Prior to the lecture, the Office of International Affairs hosted a meeting with H.E. Ambassador Lewis, NTNU Executive Vice President Yin Yung-Hsiang, Deputy Directors of the Office of International Affairs Professors Hsieh Hsiu-Mei and Cindy Zhou, and College of Management Professor Albert Young. They welcomed the ambassador and his delegation warmly. Vice President Yin Yung-Hsiang spoke about the university's role in Taiwan and its educational reputation. He also mentioned notable alums from various academic fields, as well as the development of NTNU students' international perspectives. His excellency Ambassador Robert Kennedy Lewis praised NTNU's educational institutions and students' English fluency in response to the Vice President's welcome remarks. He expressed gratitude for our concern for Saint Lucian students and expressed a desire for future academic exchanges.
The highlight of the visit was Ambassador Lewis' lecture, 'From Education to Diplomacy: A Life of Servant Leadership.' This is attracting over a hundred students, both onsite and online. Everyone was animated and involved. In addition to his diplomatic position for St. Lucia, he encouraged students to excel in their fields during his lecture. He went on to say that 'people may not always remember the exact nature of the activities and engagements they had with you; however, they will always remember how you made them feel.'
Ambassador Lewis' visit strengthened the close cooperation in international exchanges. It was an excellent opportunity for NTNU students and faculty to gain knowledge of diplomacy and international affairs. It also promoted intercultural interaction and collaboration.
Ms. Cleisha-Bernise Springer, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Saint Lucia to Taiwan, and Ms. Adriana Hsu, Executive Assistant to His Excellency, were recognized during the visit for their assistance in organizing and supporting the event. Furthermore, thanks are extended to everyone at OIA and the College of Management who assisted in organizing and setting up the event.
