Different Watermelons for Different Subjects

<p><font face="Arial">By Amber Wang<br /> Campus Reporter</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">Two of the most expensive watermelons were ordered to be delivered this year, the Taichung Association (中友會) said today.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">While most National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) students would purchase cheaper and normal watermelons and send them to their beloved ones, Yvonne Chuang (莊如涵), an English freshman and a member of the Taichung Association, said that the Department of Physical Education ordered the NT$499 watermelon, which was the most expensive one, for their professors and an anonymous senior ordered another one for his girlfriend Yetta Lin (林書筠), an English sophomore.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">The Taichung Association has been the only student club on the campus who would constantly organize the &ldquo;watermelon prompt delivery&rdquo; activity every year that its members would accept pre-orders and invoice at the scene on the Watermelon Festival at its booth in front of the Military Instructor Office and would then deliver these watermelons to those subject recipients.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">The booth would be opened from 12pm to 5pm only on June 5.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">A junior, who wished to remain anonymous, from the Department of Civic Education and Leadership said that as usual, he would visit the booth and purchase watermelons for his senior friends who are graduating but never received any watermelons during their four-year staying at NTNU.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">&quot;This would be a token of appreciation for their taking of me, too,&rdquo; he said.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial">He said that he once received a Hami melon, which meant &ldquo;I have a crush on you&rdquo; from a girl but he eventually decided to turned down the offer by returning a regular watermelon, which meant &ldquo;let&rsquo;s be friends,&rdquo; to her.</font></p> <p><font face="Arial"><br /> </font>&nbsp;</p>
