Library Ally, Maybe?

By Kevin Tang
Campus Reporter

Fifty librarians from six normal colleges sought for potential ally relationship between libraries and post graduate students’ dissertations online for free downloads when they met during a conference at National Taiwan Normal University’s (NTNU) library today.

"A library is the heart for a college or university,” said Chen Chiao-chen (陳昭珍), librarian for NTNU. “I would support the idea of making public our dissertations by graduate students because they will help establish NTNU’s reputation and inspire more academic research projects.”

Except NTNU, National Taipei University of Education, National Kaohsiung Normal University, National Hsinchu University of Education, National Changhua Normal University and National Taichung University of Education all assigned their librarians to the conference.

"True education can be carried out through the cooperation relationship between libraries, while more graduate dissertations can be shared and reviewed,” Chen said.
