By Patty Wang
Campus Reporter

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) sought for potential cooperation relationship with English Department, Chief Representative Patrick Chang (張祐康) said during his speech today.

"We would be more than happy to collaborate with National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) as long as the expenses of teachers and necessary materials could be taken care of,” Chang said.

In response, English Department Director Chern Chiou-lan (陳秋蘭) said that Chang’s proposal was an interesting one and she will figure something out to fix the existing problem, in terms of finance.

Despite unreasonable regulations regarding teachers’ paychecks at NTNU, she said she also understood that low salaries do not reflect teachers’ efforts.

"It will be great if our students have chances to attend courses conducted by LCCIEB. I will see what I can do about it,” Chern said.

LCCIEB is a non-profit organization whose main mission is to offer training courses and assessments of vocational qualifications and improve the workforce quality and the international competence of college students.
