Delta Electronics Chairman Tells How to Develop Sustainably While Protecting the Planet

<p>By Patty Wang<br /> Campus Reporter</p> <p>The Chairman of Delta Electronics, Bruce Chen (鄭崇華), gave a speech to National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) students at the auditorium today.</p> <p>Chen talked about &ldquo;Challenge for 21st Century: How to protect the environment, save the energy and develop sustainably.&rdquo;<br /> &nbsp;<br /> To emphasize how important the earth was to humans, Cheng spent about 40 minutes explaining the astronomy, focusing on the truth that the earth was far tinier than the Universe.&nbsp; He encouraged the audience to appreciate what we had and paid more attention to this land.&nbsp;</p> <p>Chen pointed out the seriousness of global warming.&nbsp; He said that the scientists had noticed its high-leveled threatened impacts on humans long time ago; however, they tend to be conservative when they announce the impacts in order of severity of global warming to the public because they were afraid of arousing the unnecessary fear.&nbsp;</p> <p>In the past, people always proclaimed that they protected the environment for the future generations, he said.&nbsp; However, he said, for college students, the changes of earth had been happened.</p> <p>&quot;Now, you protect the environment for yourself,&rdquo; he said.</p> <p>Chen&rsquo;s speech was the last one of series activities with the title &ldquo;Find Your Own Way&rdquo; held by the Center of General Education (CGE) of NTNU.&nbsp; The assistant, Liou Ming-feng (劉明峰), who was responsible for the &ldquo;Find Your Own Way&rdquo; series activity, said they was going to have the other series of activities next semester.&nbsp;</p> <p>&quot;We always tried to figure out the reasons when we saw some people walked out during the speech,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;</p> <p>Liou said that the CGE would try their best figure out the topic to catch students&rsquo; attention.</p>
