NTNU Students went to Thailand for gifted education, funded by the Ministry of Education

National Taiwan Normal University has been given the fund for foreign education apprenticeship course and the educational internship program by the Ministry of Education. The Department of Special Education has selected 8 pre-service teachers, led by Prof. Yu Hsiao Ping, for a two-week visit for gifted education Kamnoetvidya Academy of Sciences (KVIS) and the 2018 Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness in mid-August in Thailand. Those students, coming from different departments like English, Chemistry, Science, Special Education, have all taken gifted education courses.

Chinese Taipei men's volleyball team Won First Bronze in 20 years

The Chinese Taipei men's volleyball team is mostly made up of students and alumni of the Department of Athletic Performance. In a total of 14 players, 9 have studied at NTNU. On September 1, the team played a great game against Qatar and get the bronze medal by 3 to 1. This is our first medal in 20 years since the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok. The players were so excited after the game.

Alumna Yang.Y.C joins Lega Serie A as first Taiwanese volleyball player

Yang Yi Chen, an alumna of the Department of Athletic Performance, joins Filottrano LARDINI, which belongs to Italian Women's Volleyball League Serie A1. She is the first female athlete from Taiwan that plays at the national league in Italy. LARDINI has 47 years of history. The men who made Yang's women's national volleyball team is Federica Rampazzo, a former coach for Lardini Filottrano. He is also the key figure that assisted Pei-Hung Huang the setter to join Latina last year.

Alumna Shu-mei Shih Receives Outstanding Alumni Award Becomes Chair Professor

Prof. Shu-Mei Shih, graduated from the Department of English in 1982, now a Professor in Department of Comparative Literature of UCLA, is elected as the 18th outstanding alumni and also chair professor at the Department of Taiwan Culture, Language and Literature. She went back to NTNU on August 14th to receive the award from President Wu Cheng Chih. Vice President Ying Yung Hsiang, professors from College of Liberal Arts, English Department and the Department of Taiwan Culture, Language and Literature all came for this awarding ceremony.

MOU Renewal of NTNU and Paris Diderot University

On July 13th, President Wu Cheng Chih led a delegation to the Paris Diderot University for renewing the MOU of sister school. President Wu signed the MOU with President Christine Clerici. The bonding of the two universities begun in 2008. In 2012, they become sister schools. For the past seven years, 76 exchange students have been sent from both sides. To deepen the relationship, NTNU will encourage students to go to Paris Diderot University. Those who are interested can also start from short-term summer school and get familiar with the French learning environment. Full English course are also available, or one can go for Chinese teaching internship in France.
