Pre-service Teacher went to Sweden for Different Ideas

In 2019, the National Taiwan Normal University expanded its program of oversea visit. Outstanding pre-service students were selected and sent to 11 countries and regions to observe and teach in many middle schools. This year, we continue to work with Uppsala University. Assistant Professor Chen Hsin Heng from the College of Teacher Education helped with the training and lead five students to Uppsala from March 25th to April 7th. This year, the students were assigned to different schools according to their expertise. They have taught about Taiwanese culture, calligraphy writing and made pearl milk tea. The students enjoy the classes very much.

National longitudinal Study of Child Development and Care Assisted by NTNU

Children, our next generation, is the hope of our country. The well-being and health of children is an important indicator of the prosperity of a country. They grew at a very high speed when they are in infancy. It's a key phase affecting their future development. The government in many countries have invested in building a longitudinal database for child. Hence, the Ministry of Science and Technology started to assist the Department of Human Development and Family Studies with the plan of building National longitudinal Study of Child Development and Care in August, 2014 and the data collection started in March of 2016.

MOU signed by NTNU and NUS for Scientific Research

On March 14th, NTNU and the Institute for Application of Learning Science and Educational Technology(ALSET) of National University of Singapore signed an MOU at NUS, for the cooperation between the two universities on science research. Dean Tsai Chin-Chung of the Program of Learning Sciences said that this is our first step but also a very important one for the two universities. He hopes that the MOU will be the foundation of a platform for students and teachers to share and cooperate.

Assistant Professor Yang Chan Shan’s Cross national Team published on Science

A paper that discovers the quantum-critical, relativistic plasma in clean grapheme, by Assistant Professor Yang Chan Shan from the Graduate Institute of Electro-optical Science and Technology and the Physic Department of UC Berkeley was published on the latest Science.

Cooperation between NTNU and PSU Promotes Academic Research Projects

The sister schools program established in 1998 between National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and Pennsylvania State University (PSU) has brought frequent opportunities for exchange and has succeeded in developing a strong partnership between the institutions. In late November 2018, NTNU President Cheng-Chih Wu led a delegation of professor representatives in a trip to Penn State University, where the representatives gained first-hand knowledge of Penn State University development plan. During the trip, the delegation also met in fruitful discussion with Penn State President Eric Barron.
