International Culture Day at Linkou with Local Community

Students from the Division of Preparatory Programs comes from more than 20 countries, making it the most internationalized campus in Taiwan. In order to celebrate cultures differences with local community, it’s decided that the International Culture Day on October 21 was jointly organized by the Linkou District Office. President of National Taiwan Normal University Chang Kuo En, Mayor of New Taipei City, Eric Chu and Director of Overseas Students Preliminaries, Wu Chung Hsin welcomed everyone to the campus of Linkou after hiking and experience some exotic food and performance.

NTNU Student Receives Red Dot Design with Sign Language Learning App

Chiang Po Yi, a graduate student from the Department of Design, received the 2017 Red Dot Design with a sign language learning app MGISL. This is his second award related to sign language and the first one was from the International Design Award in 2013. He became a designer by coincidence. According to Chiang, designing is not only for the product but to see the problem and solves it. The reason for him to design the app is that hearing impaired people are misunderstood because of lack of communication. By learning sign language with MGISL, the gap can be shortened.

CEO of Wonder Workshop Vikas Gupta Visited NTNU

National Taiwan Normal University has been promoting the Industry-academic Cooperation for a long time. CEO of the famous U.S. startup Wonder Workshop Vikas Gupta visited NTNU on the morning of October 17, Professor Wu Cheng Chih and Associate Professor Chen Zhi Hong from the Graduate Institute of Information and Computer Education, Ms. Chen Yi Fen from Taipei First Girls' High School and Mr. Huang Wei Ming and Ms. Weng Zhen Yuan from Dong-Hu Junior High School share their ideas with Mr. Gupta on the trends of program education, curriculum development and teaching aid design of primary and secondary schools in the world.

Gold Medalist for World Skills Competition in 24 years Trained by NTNU

Dean Lin Chun Liang of the College of Arts helped training contestants for the 44th World Skills Competition and grabbed the gold medal that hasn’t belongs to Taiwan for 24 years.

Prof. Lin Received Best Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Education

Associate Professor Trinity, Yu-Tzu Lin and Professor Wu Cheng Chih and graduate student Hou Ting Yun have received the best paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Education.
