Pre-service Teachers Visited Singapore 5 Weeks with Horizons Broaden

The Ministry of Education granted NTNU for the program of “Foreign Internship for College of Teacher’s training”. Associate Professor Lin Tzu Bin was the program manager of the selection progress that sent 12 outstanding pre-service teachers to Nanyang Junior College and National Institute of Education.

NTNU Athlete Grabbed Bronze in Men's 400m Relay in 2017 Universiade

Student of NTNU, Cheng Po Yu and his teammates, Yang Chun Han, Wei Yi Ching Cheng Po-yu and Chen Chia Hsun won a bronze for Taiwan. On August 28th, the Chinese Taipei men's 4x100m team has run their best performance in 39.06 seconds with competitors like America and Japan.

Another Silver Goes to Rhythmic gymnastics in 2017 Universiade

One of the last competition in the 2017 Universiade took place on August 29th. Hsu Tzu Chi, from NTNU Gymnastics, received another silver medal in 3 balls 2 ropes, defeating top athletes from Japan and Ukraine after the team got a silver for All-around. Their coach Masami Nakata is now a Ph.D. student at Department of Physical Education, NTNU. For two consecutive days, the team of Chinese Taipei defeated competitors from Japan, South Korea and China, setting the best record of Chinese Taipei in this category.

Taiwan Ranked 2nd in 2017 International Earth Science Olympiad

The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, had a good showing at the 11th International Earth Science Olympiad, IESO 2017 in Nice, France. A total of 108 students from 34 countries attended this year. Taiwan is ranked the second in the world with two golden medals and two silver ones. The team were selected from among 478 students after a series of tests and training by more than 10 professors led by NTNU’s Chang Chun Yen. Huang Shen Chang, a gold medalist from Taichung Municipal Taichung First Senior High School, received a silver on earth science project.

Rising Number of TOCFL Test-takers Revels Popularity of Chinese

In response to the rising number of foreign student and foreign employees at schools or companies, the Steering Committee for the test of Proficiency-Huayu, assisted by NTNU under the commission of the Ministry of Education developed a scan test for Chinese as a Foreign Language. There will be two parts, listening and reading, for schools or businesses to know a test takers' Chinese ability in short time.
