The College of Sports and Recreation was officially founded in August of 2001 to meet the needs of changing times and has become the sixth college established by the National Taiwan Normal University. The College of Sports and Recreation consists of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, the Department of Athletic Performance, the Graduate Institute of Sport, Leisure and Hospitality Management, and the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability Executive Master of Business Administration. Now the number of students of our College is about 1,000 and the number of teachers is about 70.

The curriculum of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, formerly known as the Department of Physical Education, is basically divided into 6 areas: physical education, sports management, sports history and philosophy, sports biomechanics, sports psychology, and sports biology.

The goal of the Department of Athletic Performance is to assist students to become excellent athletes by a series of professional training. The training subjects include archery, badminton, basketball, artistic gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

The Graduate Institute of Sport, Leisure and Hospitality Management is dedicated to cultivating management elites for enterprises. It has industry-academia collaboration with Taiwan enterprises for decades. The master program of Sport, Leisure and Hospitality Management is divided into two majors: sport and leisure management, and hospitality management.

At last, the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability Executive Master of Business Administration is the pioneer of the executive master of business administration program. It combines two concepts of “Sport and Leisure” and “Health and Sustainability” and features with various LOHAS industry paradigms.
