Master of Sport Management Visited NTNU

Dr. David K. Stotlar, Professor Emeritus, University of Northern Colorado, called at NTNU on November 10th. President Chang Kuo En, Vice President Cheng Chih Fu, Vice President of Office of Student Affairs Chang Shao Hsi, Dean of College of Sports and Recreation Chi Li Kang and Chairman Lin Mei Chun of Department of Physical Education all welcomed his visit.

Five MTC Students Win at Foreign Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition

2017 Foreign Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition was held at National Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall on November 3rd. Five students from the Mandarin Training Center were selected as representatives. Under the instruction of three senior Chinese teachers at MTC, all of them stood out of 77 contestants and received the second prize, the third prize and three honorable mentions.

Workshop by the International Council for Science Held in NTNU

From November 7th, the workshop of gender differences in science and mathematics field was held by The International Council for Science for two days in Gongguan campus of NTNU. Nearly 40 experts from 12 countries attended the workshop and focused on the discussion of the design of the questionnaire. The International Council for Science (ICSU, after its former name, International Council of Scientific Unions) is an international organization devoted to international cooperation in the advancement of science. Its members are national scientific bodies and international scientific unions. As of 2017, it comprises 122 multi-disciplinary National Scientific Members, Associates and Observers representing 142 countries and 31 international.

Taiwan Teens Ranked 2nd Globally in Civic Literacy

With the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, Taiwan applied for the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS2016) in 2013. Professor Liu Mei Hui, from the Department of Education served as the organizer for the project that is made up of teams in different universities. On November 7, 2017 the preliminary result was released, showing that compared to countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas, Taiwan ranks second in the world in terms of citizen awareness and gender equality support, and ranks first in ethnic affiliation support.
