 The Forth Portrait The Tears Not Seen

 

NTNU general education center invited the movie play writer Tu Hsiang-wen to talk about the movie “The Forth Portrait” The movie was about a kid and his four portraits to show his relationship with the adults around.

“The Fourth Portrait” showed the bitter and lowness of nobody and highlighting the society concern issue. Tu Hsiang-wen mentioned the inspiration of this movie came from the child abuse news. The director was interested in the growing of a child.

Many adults and children interaction were shown in the movie. He indicated that the technique the director used showed the toughness of Taiwanese people, no matter encounter what situation, we could always start up again.

The movie left with an opening ending. Although the forth portrait wasn’t shown, it represented the growing of the main character and started to face himself. Tu also mentioned that not everything had only two sides. The point wasn’t about the happy ending but emphasized the corner of society.
