NTNU National Players Won Brilliant Result in the Universiade
NTNU students from Department of physical Education and Athletic Performance participated in the Universiade in Shenzhen and had brilliant results. NTNU best new record was made, 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. The brilliant result won the big round applause among the nation.
Ho Hsiao-chun from graduate institute of athletic performance won the first gold medal for Taiwan in the weight lifting match. She indicated that she conquered the nervous and put the concentration on techniques and movements. She didn’t think of how her opponents did or she must win the champion. She practiced a lot besides regular training, all her efforts paid back.
Female golf player Liu Yi-chen was the freshman and this was her first time to participate in the Universiade. She was the youngest player among all and she learned a lot from it. Female taw kwon do player Chung Chia-chia cried when she beated the Korean player with 3:2 and won the championship. Although her weight was lighter, she was more flexible and elastic.
Weight lifting players Huang Tse-wei and Lai Hsiang-ting expected to have better result next time. NTNU won the four medals out of Taiwan’s 7, they were very proud of it. With the hard working players and the guidance from couches, NTNU would have better record next time.
